Welcome to the Website of the Kaleidoscope Learning Trust (KLT) a multi-academy trust (MAT) founded in 2018. We hope you enjoy browsing through the site and that of our founding partner provider, Cloughwood Academy – an academy with ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted ratings for both educational and care and boarding provision.

The ethos of our Trust is summed up in the Trust’s name and the strap line accompanying our logo ‘Embracing diverse approaches to educational excellence.’ We passionately believe there is no one way to the achievement of excellence, and we celebrate and support the unique approaches adopted in schools that would wish to join us. Our schools are truly partner providers in every sense, and we are looking for more to join the Trust.

The role of the Trustee Board is to set the vision, ethos and strategic direction of the Trust and to hold the executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the Trust, the development and management of staff and the achievement of the Trust’s strategic goals. The Trustee Board, as the employer of all staff employed by the Trust, acts as a responsible and caring employer and also oversees and ensures effective fiscal management across the Trust.

As trustees, we have a high expectation of everyone in our school community. We are uncompromising in holding children at the centre of everything we do in order for them to achieve their full potential. The Trustee Board has a statutory obligation for safeguarding and child protection, thus ensuring that all our schools keep children safe.

Central to our thinking is the importance of local governing bodies. Our Scheme of Delegation is designed to support head teachers and local governing bodies in retaining local ownership and gaining autonomy and responsibility for their own school development plans.

If you are interested in joining us as a partner provider or simply curious to find out more about our approach to running a MAT, we would be pleased to come and talk to you with no obligation, no pressure.

Dr John Swaffield, MBE
