Denise Chong

Denise has had an extensive career in Human Resources, working in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, chemicals and telecommunications.  Most recently Denise held a Chief People's Officer position in the transportation sector. 

Denise has held a number of positions working as a non-exec director in both academic and charitable organisations.  Denise recently joined the KLT as a member because of her passion to improve children’s education. In her spare time, Denise enjoys reading, walking and travelling.

Louise Gibson

Louise has been working in education for the past 15 years and has a passion for quality teaching and learning. Her career has included working as a zookeeper, teaching both apprenticeships and vocational qualifications, and is currently a Teaching and Learning Coach, delivering Initial Teacher Education, and promoting quality improvement strategies across the organisation.

Although Louise does not live in Hartford, she finds being a member of the KLT beneficial, enhancing her knowledge of education that can be applied to her own teaching profession, whilst giving back to the community.

In her spare time, Louise enjoys spending time with her family, knitting and taking her dogs for walks.

David Glenn

David has lived in Hartford since 2007, but his children have been educated in Hartford since 1999.

David set up a financial services company in 1990 and this relocated to Hartford in 2007. David is a financial adviser who now works for a national IFA after selling his own company in 2021.

He has been a governor/director/member since 2008 and has loved seeing Cloughwood Academy develop into the place it is now.

In his spare time he enjoys playing tennis and golf and travelling.

Mike Taylor

Mike is a former science teacher moving to become a teacher trainer 13 years ago. He has led whole school improvement projects in his specialist area of assessment. He has completed Postgraduate research at the University of Oxford and Glasgow University for his PhD in education. He also has a big interest in SEND and equity in education.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time in the Cheshire countryside with his dog.

Jenny Whiston

Jenny has overseen the finance, business and operational functions of schools for over 15 years, and has experience of primary, secondary and special schools, both in the maintained and academy sectors. She is currently Governance and Compliance Lead for a primary MAT, ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance through working closely with the CEO and CFO.  

She believes passionately in continuous improvement and over the years has gained qualifications in School Business Management, Health & Safety, Human Resources and Governance.  She joined the members' board of the KLT in 2018.

Outside of work, Jenny has spent a number of years supporting local charities through organised community events and loves being in the great outdoors with her labradoodle.
